UJIAN NASIONAL! PERLU?

National Examination is held by Indonesian government since many years ago. In the past, it called Ebtanas, UANAS, UNAS, Ujian Negara and many more. This is a national test held by the country every year for all students in the entire school in Indonesia who are in the highest grade in each school level. Elementary students, junior students and also senior high students face it every year. There are many opinions about this exam. Some students might agree with the test but there are also a huge number of students who refuse this test every year. Those opinions are absolutely normal and right. But for me, the National Examination is supposed to erase because of these reasons.

Firstly, it is not fair for all students. Why do I write that statement? In this case, it is not fair for students in junior and senior high school who had spent 3 years to study and even elementary students who studied for about 6 years. Their hard work for 3 years and 6 years is just paid by 3 or 4 days simple national exam. For junior and senior high students, they have to flash back the entire lesson that they had learn for about 3 or 2 years ago. They just have 3 or 4 months before the national exam to flash back the lesson. I’m sure it is hard for them and also for me.

The second point is the government is still not giving an action to prevent all the violation, dishonesty and problem during and after the examination. For example students who got the answer key and a person who overspreads the answer key to the students. This problem had become worst. The question is, “How can Indonesian become a good person in the future if they just cheating and cheating?” This is because nowadays, students are just relying on the answer keys. No matter right or wrong the answers are, but they still use it to help themselves. The biggest problem is, the government seems not care nor sees what really happen or even give some policies to prevent the problem. They seem blind and deaf. You know, much news reported that there are many violation and dishonesty during the exam. But unfortunately, from time to time, the problems still emerge and emerge.

The last one is, some abnormal attitudes emerge because of national examination. Nervous and scared during the examination is just normal. But, suicidal tendencies are completely abnormal. There are many cases that had happen. Because they were not passed the exam, some students are too disappointed and obsessed to finish themselves. This is because they don’t have strong mental to do the exam or maybe because of the other factors.
